‘40% increase in peak traffic on our network’: ACT Fibernet on Covid-19 lockdown impact

ACT Fibernet, one of the leading internet service providers in India, has witnessed over 40 per cent surge in peak traffic on its network during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The company said it has seen a spike in internet usage across all cities where it operates, including Delhi, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Coimbatore. “Our network is future-ready to scale up significantly to meet growing demands in all the cities we are present in,” Prasanna Gokhale, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), ACT Fibernet, told indianexpress.com in an email interaction. “We have sufficient bandwidth provisioned so that our customers can work from home seamlessly, stream 4k content effortlessly and stay connected with their family and friends.”

ACT Fibernet Sees 40% Increase In Traffic Amid Coronavirus Lockdown

ACT Fibernet recently launched Work home plans for its customers. Under this plan, the company is providing 300Mbps speed without FUP. The company is offering this facility with its base plans, and users can avail the service via its app. Similarly, both state-run telecom operators BSNL and MTNL have announced offers for their broadband customers. The telcos are offering free and double data benefits. However, now customers are complaining about the low speed. In fact, a Twitter user called Sandeep Sharma has said that he is only getting the only 90 Mbps speed when he is paying for the GIGA connection.

ACT Stream TV 4K set-top box available for Rs 200 per month

Broadband service provider ACT Fibernet launched the ACT Stream TV 4K set-top box based on its Android TV last year. It was launched at a price of Rs 4,499. Through this, users can access many OTT platforms on their TVs, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Zee5 etc. The company is also offering additional 100GB data with it, which can be accessed by 31 August 2020. he company has now launched a rental scheme for this set-top box. For this, two types of rental schemes have been launched. In the first, users will have to pay at the rate of Rs 200 per month. However, in the second scheme users will have to pay at the rate of Rs 1,000 per month. To take the monthly rental, users will have to pay a refundable amount of Rs 1,000 separately, which will be returned to the users as soon as the set-top box is returned.
