US-based Ookla has released its January Global Speedtest Index. As per the Speedtest Index, India’s performance for fixed broadband since December 2019 improved with the country moving up a few rank, there was no movement when it came to mobile broadband ranking. India ranked at 128 position for mobile broadband speed and at 66 position for fixed broadband speed in January 2020, globally. A previous report by Ookla said that ACT Fibernet topped the charts in fixed broadband download speeds in India with speeds between 45.31 and 47.74 Mbps. Hathway was in second place for most of the time period with a top speed of 33.69 Mbps followed by Airtel and Jio.
